All New! Craig Fraser’s Kustom Painting Technique


Craig Fraser is one of the most recognized and sought-after custom painters in the world. He has been working as the inhouse designer, and airbrusher for Kal Koncepts since 1992 which, along with Craig's company, Air Syndicate Inc., is one of the driving forces in the custom automotive and motorcycle world.

Craig is also a free-lance automotive Photo-Journalist, and has worked for all the major automotive paint publications. He is the author of the best selling kustom paint book, "Automotive Cheap Tricks, and Special FX" , "Pinstriping Masters" and the newly released book " Automotive Cheap tricks and Special F/X II." Craig has over 20 how-to videos currently on the market. Craig
is a certified instructor for Valspar, House of Kolor, and PPG.

The optional intro day is where Craig covers all of the materials technology, and use of House of Kolor urethanes. He also covers basic freehand skills, masking techniques, and stenciling, simple flame layouts, and incorporating varied techniques to create a complex composition will finish off the day. Basically all the skills you will need for the next 3 projects.

This is a more advanced workshop than others that Craig teaches, and should be considered "next level." For the main course, Craig will focus on 3 separate projects. One being a steampunk mural, incorporating stencil work, freehand airbrushing, sequential masking, and textures. The other will be a Kustom Kulture style mural that is based on the representational cartoonism that is so popular in the tattoo, and hot rod industry right now. Varied techniques of masking, freehand airbrushing, and pinstriping will be used to finish this project. The third project will incorporate realistic fire, stencils, and freehand airbrushing to create a classic flaming skull design. Craig will instruct from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and the studio will be open until 9:00 pm.

This workshop is held in a non-intimidating studio environment with both the novice and veteran artist in mind. No previous pinstriping or airbrushing experience is necessary.

All materials and reference will be supplied in our new facility, which features color corrected lighting and a state of the art air filtration system.
